This was the first company that was set up for the specific use of spraying aircraft in 2017. It was located in two side-by-side hangars at Safi Aviation Park.
Following financial troubles in paying ground rent, Aviation Cosmetics has ended operations in Malta.
In May 2025, a €22 million investment plan, that would have seen the Dutch company relocating to Malta, failed to materialize, although the company claimed that its plans had merely been delayed.
Although a local subsidiary company, Aviation Cosmetics Malta, was set up with just the minimum of share capital, the company never honoured its commitments to pay the yearly ground rent and a €4million guarantee. Without this guarantee, permission for construction works to proceed.
By February 2026 the local press were reporting that the employees hadn’t received that month’s salary. This was a result of the company’s assets being frozen by the courts, which also ordered that the company be evicted from the (government owned) land on which its hangers stand. (The employees would receive their salaries from the frozen assets.)
